The Legend of Zelda - Second Quest Without a Sword

Air Date: May 23, 2008

The Legend of Zelda, a classic from the old Nintendo Entertainment System (NES), was released on the Nintendo gamecube in the Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition. In much the same circumstances as the first quest, it is possible to get all the way to Ganon in the second quest without obtaining a single sword. Unfortunately Ganon cannot be killed without a sword in the second quest too so the advancement ends there.

At any rate this is a complete walkthrough of how to get to Ganon without getting a single sword in the game. You will notice a more bizzare level completion strategy. Level 2 has a gleeok so it cannot be completed until you gather the magic wand.

A general synopsis of gathering the magic wand is as follows: The fun begins with a "balls of steel" run to the graveyard for some free money to get the blue candle. Go to level 1 with some bombs to get the boomerang and a piece of triforce. Next go to level 2 to get the recorder and escape. Use the recorder to open up level 6 to obtain the ladder. Then you need to use the ladder to cross the river at death mountain to place a bomb to uncover level 8. Go into level 8 and covertly get the magic wand. Then the game pretty much plays as normal. Remember to take extra money for those "Leave your life or your money" guys within the labyrinths.

Once again all this was done without the quick warping feature or by using any saves or continues. Warping takes all the fun and strategy out of the game.
